ERA welcomes 3 new franchise partners

21 November 2012

This month, Expense Reduction Analysts (ERA) was delighted to welcome three new starters to the group, kicking off with the November academy training course.

Duncan Rogers joins his father’s expanding business

After a career in Moscow teaching English Language, Duncan, based in County Durham, joined his father’s procurement business.  Ken Rogers, ERA associate since 2004 specialising in Logistics, had brought Duncan on to provide back office functions allowing him to learn the project process from data collection through to auditing.

Duncan was attracted to the lifestyle benefits of working in a family run procurement practice and wanted to become more involved in the business, so took the plunge to become an associate.

Joining the network of fully trained procurement consultants, once Duncan has completed his induction training he will join Ken to build on the existing strengths and specialisms of the business and enhance their offering to clients.

Ian McGregor

Ian currently holds the Angling Time’s record for the biggest fish ever caught in a coarse fishing match in the UK, but is now fishing in other ponds as he joins the UK’s highest earning cost reduction franchise.

“I made sure to explore other cost reduction franchises before making a decision, but found that ERA had a broader offering and covered a wider range of expenditure categories than its competitors. I was also attracted to working with colleagues as part of a network, which wasn’t offered elsewhere. ERA just seemed like a perfect fit to my own career aspirations.”

Based in Surrey with his wife and two daughters, Ian spent 20 years in the Metropolitan Police Service, followed by 10 years in the Audit Commission providing him with a broad and deep experience of information systems and business issues.

In his spare time, Ian enjoys partaking in sports including fishing, cycling and surfing along with home-based pastimes such as home brewing and bread making. He also takes a keen interest in philosophy.

Ian decided to pursue a franchise opportunity after 30 years of corporate life: “Having been made redundant I wanted more control over my own fate; I also sought an opportunity that I could continue to build and expand at my own pace for as long as I wish.”

Andrew Beer uses his 20 years experience in banking and finance to the benefit of his new venture

Andrew, based in Essex with his wife and two young boys, has joined ERA following a career spanning over twenty years in Equities Trading with his most recent role Director, UK Equities Trading with Royal Bank of Scotland.

Outside of work, Andrew enjoys playing golf and poker, watching almost all sports and keeping up-to-date with current finance, particularly macro-economics.

Andrew was introduced to the ERA model through a friend he worked with in the city, a current franchise partner, Nick Robinson who joined ERA in 2011.

“When I talked to him about the business it struck a chord with me; there have been many occasions when I have been irritated by money being wasted by organisations and thought that I’d like to be in a position to influence how they actually make those spending decisions.”

Andrew anticipates that the next few years will be very difficult for the UK economy and companies will have to pay a great deal of attention to managing costs, where ERA is ideally positioned to support.

Duncan, Andrew and Ian will graduate from the Academy Training Program in December, ready to launch their businesses in the New Year.
