Virtually maintenance-free with a 25-year guarantee, thousands of the nation's homeowners are now choosing Colourfence

11 May 2017

Colourfence Cambridge franchisee, Sharone Freed, has just posted a record month with new orders of £81,200.

With eight years’ experience under his belt and a two-time Colourfence ‘Franchisee of the Year’, it’s perhaps no surprise Sharone is modest about his achievements, saying: “I’m really not doing anything more than I’ve always done. My marketing is consistent, so I haven’t changed anything there. And once people see our products, and undersand their wide-ranging benefits, they tend to go ahead and place an order. But I’ll admit that Storm Doris did help, and certainly caused some havoc over here.”

Sharone is not alone, though, as several of the brand’s franchisees achieved record sales. Jon Angle from Cardiff sold £54,000, while Ivor McKeown from Bath took orders worth £62,603.

“This is a fantastic product that anyone with a garden would want,” Ivor says. “It's stunning to look at, very reasonably priced and does everything a timber fence can't: it will last a lifetime or more and withstand gale force winds. And with the winds we've just had, that's meant I've been busier than ever.”

Colourfence has 55 franchisees in the UK and Ireland, each selling its unique product with no direct competitor in a protected territory of their own. The fence itself requires virtually no maintenance, is designed to withstand wind gusts of 130mph and can be installed for a similar outlay to timber fencing. Newport-based franchisee, Chris Howell, who joined Colourfence more than seven years ago says “Signing up was an easy decision, and I’ve never looked back since. The product sells itself; once people see it, they love it. And it’s pitched at the right price too.”

As the manufacturer, Colourfence only makes money when franchisees sell a fence. And, says Managing Director, Mark Stewart-Woods, the company needs more franchisees to service the huge demand for its products throughout the country: “We’re seeing an increasing number of enquiries every month, and close to 40% of all phone calls we receive turn into a sale. But we’re probably covering just 40% of the country right now, and desperately need good, entrepreneurially minded franchisees to fill the gaps.”

The Colourfence franchise – a BFA-member for 10 years – requires no previous experience, is very easy to learn and provides a rapid return on investment. The company holds regular Open Days at its factory in Newport for prospective franchisees, with spaces still available on Friday 19th May and Friday 9th June. The franchise, which can be run as a management operation, costs just £19,995 + vat.
