Celebrating 25 Outstandings for our network

15 March 2018

We’re celebrating reaching 25 CQC Outstandings for our franchise network, a milestone that showcases the dedication of our franchisees to deliver high quality home care.

Two offices – Chicester and Northampton – are the latest to be told they’re officially ‘outstanding’, joining only two per cent of adult social care providers that have achieved the highest rating.

Simon McGee, owner of Home Instead Senior Care Chichester & Bognor Regis, set up his office in 2015 and now employs a team of over 50 people.

Commenting on Home Instead’s mission to ‘change the face of ageing’, the inspectors were impressed with what they found and stated: “It was evident that the organisation strives to achieve this mission statement with their dedication, compassion and ‘selfless’ commitment to provide the best services to people possible.”

Simon said: “We are delighted to be rated as outstanding. This is only possible thanks to our superb team who are totally dedicated to providing the best care services to our elderly clients and their families.

“Like so many people, I discovered the world of home care services at a time of crisis, after my 95-year-old grandma was discharged from hospital following a nasty fall.

“After being disillusioned with many of the domiciliary care services I experienced, I came across Home Instead Senior Care. As soon as I did, I knew I had found what I had been looking for, where people shared my belief and ethos. Home Instead in Eastbourne looked after my grandmother and that experience inspired me.

“It seemed obvious to me that quality care is something every community needs. So within 6 months, I had set up my own Home Instead franchise, and the rest is history!”

Also receiving an Outstanding rating and praise on their work to ‘change the face of ageing’ is our Northampton franchise, run by former Northampton Town defender, Ray Warburton and his wife, Jo.

Ray and Jo set up the local office of Home Instead in 2011. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength and currently provides care for 90 clients and employs 80 staff.

Inspectors said ‘The provider was not only committed to providing the most trusted and respected home care service in Northampton but also to work alongside other agencies to change the face of ageing.’

Inspectors were also impressed by the effort the care team made to empower clients. In order to allow one particular client to share their views and express their wishes the caregivers learnt Makaton, a form of sign language used by the client.

Franchisee Ray said: “We are delighted to have achieved the highest possible rating from the social care regulator, the CQC.

“The Home Instead model is innovative and all franchisees share a strong sense of purpose. It’s why we are such a success story.

“It’s a real privilege to be part of the Home Instead brand and I am so proud of the team here in Northampton and the work we are doing to change the face of ageing.”

There are 115 territories and 4 territory resales available with Home Instead for people who want to be their own boss and franchise with a true innovator.
