Steve & Paul take the ‘Premier’ journey to success...

25 January 2015

Premier Education Group is proud of its continued success of developing talent and giving everyone  the opportunity to realise their ambitions and to build a future in an industry they love. What Paul Furniss & Steve Hart have achieved over the last 2 years is fantastic. Their growth in the Stoke / Stafford region clearly demonstrates what can be achieved by sheer hard work, enthusiasm, a passion for what they do and of course a proven business model. The most exciting part for everyone is that this is only just the beginning!

I will let Paul Furniss & Steve Hart explain a bit more...

Tell me about the last two years, starting from your time as a Activity Professional up to now?

The transition from Activity Professional to franchisee has happened very quickly and I can't believe how fast the past 2 years have gone. We have learnt such a lot, but we continue to enjoy the challenges and opportunities that being a Premier Sport franchisee present.

How has Premier Education group helped you along the way?

Having being already being involved with the company the transition from Activity Professional to franchisee was made easier, however Premier Education Group were always on hand to offer support and advice where needed.

The initial training we received gave us all the tools we required to start growing our business.

How have you developed over this time?

As our business has grown we have both learnt and developed new skills. Knowing each other’s strengths and weaknesses has enabled us to put in place an infrastructure that allows the business to keep on growing efficiently.

Did you ever think you would be operating successful multiple businesses in the physical activity arena?

The idea of owning a second franchise was something that we had discussed and was part of our long term plan as we are both ambitious people, we didn't think that the opportunity would come around so quickly but we are excited to be expanding in an industry that we are both passionate about.

Tell me about your future plans?

Our plan is to increase our growth but also more importantly to continue the fantastic work our Activity Professionals are doing in our existing schools. We are currently looking into obtaining a Premier Performing Arts licence as we feel confident that the product can add value to our business.

What are your targets?

We currently set ourselves new business targets every half term as we continue to grow so quickly the need to reassess where we are at and where we want to be change. As we both have different job roles we are responsible for hitting our own personal targets. We are just about to move into our new office so that we have a base to oversee the growth of our operation.  We firmly believe that by focusing on job roles that are suited to our strengths we are able to surpass expectations.

What’s the best part of being your own boss?

The best part of being your own boss is the ability to shape the environment that you work in. The responsibility is with us to make that the best it can be.

What would you say to someone contemplating running their own business?

We have enjoyed the challenge so we would highly recommend it and the key to it being a success is how much hard work you put in.
