Wagging Tails launches three new franchises

11 June 2015

Dog boarding franchise Wagging Tails has successfully launched three new franchises in the last two months.

Lesley Birch launched the Tonbridge branch in April while Simon Eccles and Kevin Wright both launched their franchises in the home counties covering Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire respectively in May 2015.

All three have already taken their first bookings and were unanimous in their praise of the training and support they received from head office.

Talking about the training he received Simon, who runs the Hemel Hempstead area along with his Cocker Spaniel Benji, stated,

"Prior to my launch I spent three days at Head Office training with Jim and Lisa. These days covered everything I needed to know to set up and run my new business, how to publicise it and how to find carers and owners. I found my training extremely valuable and it enabled me to hit the ground running when I started for real the week after. Lisa’s experience in running her original home boarding business showed through as she speaks from personal experience."

The effects appear to have been almost instantaneous,

"...by week two I had my first carer with two more interviews scheduled and owners already contacting me to book in their dogs. I am looking forward to driving my business forward and watching it grow.”

Kevin, who, along with his two dogs Roly and Abbie, operates the St Albans branch of Wagging Tails paints a similar picture,

"My training at Wagging Tails Head Office offered me a comprehensive understanding of everything related to the business and I left feeling like I had everything I needed to launch my business.

Spending the day with Hilary (Wagging Tails' Swindon franchisee), was also a timely refresher on booking and invoicing procedures and I was lucky enough to be able to sit in on a carer interview with her too which was a valuable experience as I was interviewing my very first potential carer the next day!

I am already in receipt of numerous enquiries from owners wishing to board their dogs and well on my way to recruiting and adding to my team of committed and professional carers. I am excited for the coming months and growing my business further.”

Talking about her first two months with Wagging Tails Lesley, a former teacher, and owner of rescue dogs Mabel and Ted offered high praise for the support she has received from both Head Office and the Wagging Tails franchise network since launching her franchise two months ago,

I have been building on my technology skills and now have a good working relationship with my laptop and printer! The internal systems for Wagging Tails are easy to use and efficient and the training and the operations manual have been an invaluable source of reference for me. Knowing that there is someone at the end of the phone or email also gives me a great sense of reassurance.

I am in regular contact with my neighbouring colleagues and we swap ideas and best practice. I enjoy getting out and meeting people and their dogs and talking them through the amazing service that Wagging Tails offers.

As rescue dogs Ted and Mabel both started their lives in kennels and if they could talk I know they would say a home is much, much nicer!”
