Ex- Director of EMI Music moves offstage from recording top artists to onstage with Auditel

03 June 2015

Last month, Andy Clark joined the Auditel Cost Management franchise.  He currently lives in the Netherlands, but will be relocating to Norfolk. Andy qualified as a Chartered Accountant in New Zealand. He spent more than 20 years working for EMI Music, a leading global music company that worked with top artists, including The Beatles, Coldplay, David Guetta, Katy Perry and Pink Floyd. Andy served as CFO Benelux and latterly, as CFO/Country Manager and Director for EMI Music – Netherlands.

Why did you decide to join Auditel?

“I came from the music industry which had experienced a huge change in technology. This created a massive pressure on costs, in which I had been directly engaged.  Under my watch at EMI, we were able to reduce costs by 20% and maintain high profits, while the overall market declined by 6%. This experience will be most valuable to me in my new role with Auditel, who take a very strategic view of cost management. I believe I have transportable skills to offer.

“Auditel possess a good level of support and a reputable brand. This is evidenced by being awarded the Franchisor of the Year Award in 2012. I thought their business model had merit and was very professional. I liked the values and focus on personal development.

What did you think of the training?

“I really liked the supportive attitude of all the people I met, whether they were from Auditel’s Head Office or Affiliates in the field. The sales and marketing was very positive and allowed us to go into great depth with practical examples. The sessions were interactive - not just sitting there and listening. It was business-like and it offered practical ideas that can be applied from the first day. Overall, - very positive and I enjoyed it!”

As to the future, Andy confirms: “My previous experience and my training as a chartered accountant, has allowed me to achieve sustainable cost improvements. These savings allowed reinvestment in new areas of business, to further improve profits.  Equally of value, I have developed an understanding of the importance of successfully delivering and implementing solutions that ensure the benefits of these are felt within the organisation across all areas.”

Andy will be returning to the UK at the end of July.  He is looking forward to being a contributor to the Auditel team and establishing his new business.

Matt Sidwell, Auditel’s Network Development Director says: “As Andy found, Auditel can give you the opportunity to transfer your existing skills into a business that will work for you - not someone else.
