A Birmingham Office That Is Zahir To Stay…

05 August 2016

We recently caught up with Zahir, the franchise owner of Clarriots Care (Birmingham North).

Zahir has recently completed two-weeks of intensive training at the Clarriots Care Head Office in Louth, Lincolnshire and will soon be well on his way to building a successful Clarriots Care business in Birmingham North in partnership with his wife, Leena.

Q: How you discovered franchising and why you chose to go down that route?

Zahir: “Personally, having worked in Financial Services for over six years, I have been exposed to a number of businesses and entrepreneurs who have achieved success in many different ways, one of which includes franchising. I wanted to be part of a brand which was established and recognisable and to work within a structure which was tried and tested whilst still having the autonomy to make decisions which impacted the future of my business. I firmly believe the support and network which comes from being part of a franchise gives me the best chance to achieve my objectives.”

Q: Why did you choose the Health & Social Care sector?

Zahir: “One of the biggest influences on me has been my wife who has spent her entire professional career supporting adults with learning disabilities. I have witnessed first-hand the fulfilment she gains from her job and I have had the privilege of meeting some of the individuals she supports, all of whom are certain their lives have improved significantly through receiving excellent quality care. My passion is to extend the availability of reliable, person-centred care to all vulnerable individuals in our communities to the point where the provision of high quality care becomes the norm rather than the exception.”

Q: Why did you choose to join Clarriots Care and not one of the other domiciliary care franchisors?

Zahir: “Deciding which business to partner with for any prospective franchisee is always a significant milestone and one which requires plenty of thought and consideration. I met and spoke with a number of different care providers at the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham in the autumn of 2015 and in the end choosing Clarriots Care was a relatively easy decision to make. The owner, James Carratt, is a visionary and somebody who is unwavering in his commitment to provide the highest quality of care. You can see his values reflected in every single member of his team and the benefit to an organisation when these fantastic values are practiced and filtered down from the very top. I believe Clarriots Care has the potential to change the landscape of the care industry.”

Q: How is the support you have experienced from Clarriots Care so far?

Zahir: “I've been impressed with how Business Development Manager, John Pearce, has supported me so far. He has been clear in how the setup stage will progress and has emphasised that his availability to me is not restricted to just the bi-weekly update calls. It is reassuring to know that he is on hand for any questions or problems that I come across. Even small things like phoning exactly at the time the meeting is scheduled for means I can plan the rest of my day around this and am not left waiting. From the time I spent with the John and the team as a whole during training, it is clear that whilst they all take their jobs very seriously and are true professionals when at work, they are willing to show a personal side also. I think this is important if we are to be successful to together and I look forward to a number of discussions about American Football with John for years to come!”
