The Fashion Revolution

22 March 2017

There is a revolution going on in the fashion industry, finally after many years of fast (throwaway) fashion, consumers are catching on to the notion that this is not only wasteful of their money, but their shopping habit is exploiting cheap labour, whilst cheap man-made oil-based fabrics are literally costing the Earth.

After all the discussion about slow food – enjoying quality food and considering the environment, the talk on the street is now about ‘slow fashion’. Investing in high quality, beautifully cut clothes that last, made from sustainable fabrics that are a joy to wear. The added bonus is that cost per wear can be much less than a daily coffee habit and it won’t add all those calories!

If you are thinking hippy chic, rather than business attire, you couldn’t be more wrong, Savile Row quality suits are made from wool, linen and silk – all natural and sustainable – silk worms keep on spinning, sheep grow a new coat every year and linen grows out of the soil. All rot away when finally disposed of.

Suit the City is leading the revolution, offering a choice of over 3000 fabrics and hundreds of design options. Franchisees sell directly to clients and are trained to measure using the company’s simple measuring system, orders are sent to the factory in Europe where expert tailors make the garments to order.
