Mac Tools raises funds for charity BEN

02 August 2012

Paul Clegg, UK Recruitment Manager for Mac Tools undertook the National Three Peaks Challenge in July to raise funds for the charity BEN. Well-known amongst the adventurous, the demanding effort involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. The efforts saw Paul and team raise £1500 for the UK's dedicated charity for the automotive industry.

The gruelling schedule was worth it, says Paul: "Mac Tools franchisees are trusted distributors to the automotive repair shops and car dealers. We wanted to give something back to the community and did that via BEN."

“BEN provides care, support and advice to those in the automotive industries who need help in times of hardship or distress. This service costs BEN £11 million each year, so every bit of support helps,” explains Paul.

Mac Tools is part of Stanley Black & Decker, an $11+ billion global organisation employing over 30,000 people worldwide and owner of the world famous Stanley Black & Decker, Facom, Britool Expert and DeWalt brands. Their product range consists of over 8,000 professional tools including screwdrivers, ratchets, wrenches, and assorted air tools, as well as their own toolboxes.

BEN is the UK’s dedicated charity for those who work, or have worked, in the automotive and related industries, as well as their dependants. This includes practical, emotional and financial support including day, nursing and residential care for older people in our communities.
