Record Results at Mac Tools’ Franchisee of the Year Awards

26 February 2013

Mac Tools celebrated their Franchisee of the Year 2012 awards last weekend with record results across their franchise network. Business is booming and their franchisees are seeking to outperform each other as part of a friendly competition every year.

Mac Tools is part of Stanley Black & Decker, an $11+ billion global organisation employing over 30,000 people worldwide and owner of the world famous Stanley Black & Decker, Britool Expert, Facom and DeWalt brands.

This year Matt Richmond took the tool crown as Mac Tools’ Franchisee of the Year 2012. Matt bought the franchise in 2010, after having a varied career from landscape gardening to MOT testing and has really enjoyed being master of his own destiny ever since.

“It is great to be rewarded for a hard day’s work. Mac Tools is a great company to work with and I am looking forward to what 2013 brings,” says Matt.

Matt sold £280k worth of tools over the last year, increasing his sales from the previous year by a stunning 17%. However, Matt didn’t have to celebrate alone as Mac Tools rewarded a record number of franchisees across the network this year. Fifty-six of Mac Tools’ 115 UK franchisees met at least the Bronze award criteria and were awarded trophies for their outstanding performance. This is an outstanding increase of 56% on the previous year. To celebrate their success Mac Tools has rewarded Matt along with his fellow five top-performing franchisees with an all-expenses-paid trip to the US Mac Tools’ Toolfair, held in Dallas this week.

The Mac Tools line consists of over 18,000 professional tools including screwdrivers, ratchets, wrenches, and assorted air tools, as well as its own toolboxes. Our franchisees are trusted tool distributors to customers such as car dealerships, automotive repair shops, manufacturing units, and engineering companies.

Mac Tools also held an auction to raise money for BEN, a charity providing care and assistance to people working within the automotive industry and their dependents. They raised £4,100 auctioning two exclusive lots; a one-off Mac Tools’ 75th anniversary toolbox and a great motorsports package including a wing mirror off the Dynojet Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race car, as well as VIP BTCC and Superstock championship tickets with pit lane walks.
