Franchising
As part of its commercial property work, Fraser Brown provides essential services for people managing franchise businesses. The Franchise Property Team at Fraser Brown is one of the leading departments among law firms in the UK and the six partners are assisted by a strong support team. Their experience has led to an excellent reputation in the franchise field for giving structured advice specifically for this market.
The Franchise Property Team handles the whole range of franchise property issues, dealing with matters for small, self managed businesses, medium-sized local and regional companies, PLCs on a national basis and international franchise organisations. The work involves dealing with the acquisition and disposal of all types of franchise property together with specialist advice and legal support for things such as franchise agreements, copyright and leases.
In addition to these legal aspects, Fraser Brown’s special support package also provides business services and advice. The firm can provide training to make the franchisee aware of legislation affecting the business and give professional advice about recruitment advertising and services such as shop fitters, surveyors and other specialists.
Franchisees can also monitor the status of their lease and other work being undertaken via live online matter tracking and progress reports.
Fraser Brown is an affiliate member of the BFA and works for a number of member companies including Subway and, previously, Threshers.
Background to Fraser Brown
Dating back to the 1770’s Fraser Brown is an East Midlands based general practice law firm with offices in Nottingham, Bingham and Radcliffe.
Known as Fraser Brown White & Pears up until 1945, in 1987 it became known as it is today. The firm is proud of and maintains its traditional values while at the same time making use of the most up to date technology to the benefit of both employees and clients. The Nottingham office has also recently undergone refurbishment to provide a series of meeting rooms offering state of the art facilities for events, seminars and client meetings.
IT Investment
Part of Fraser Brown’s standing as an established and well respected law firm is due to its investment in technology as well as people. In fact the firm is one of the frontrunners when it comes to the use of IT in the legal profession.
The large in-house team of IT specialists and programmers has been integral to the firm’s success and reputation as legal experts. It provides both excellent services for clients and has developed Fraser Brown’s own Management Information System for firms in the legal sector, which enables managers to access real time management information and performance figures.
This recognition of the importance of technology in the business has also led to the implementation of up to the minute communication package Intouch. This state of the art online case tracking technology allows free access to the progress of the transaction at all times, providing accurate quotes and allowing clients to instruct there and then. Clients will also receive email updates at key stages of the transaction.
This online presence is part of Fraser Brown’s commitment to continually improve service levels and is designed to complement the existing face-to-face communication channels rather than detract from them. Clients continue to benefit from direct access to a dedicated client relationship manager and telephone support.
Team and Expertise
Fraser Brown has 13 partners and 120 members of staff within its offices in Nottingham, Bingham and Radcliffe. The firm works with both private and business clients based all over the UK, offering a complete range of services from planning and support to problem solving.
