Two local businessmen have been rewarded for the hard graft which enabled them to perform better than many well-established franchises in their first year of business.
Chris Page and Antony Eely (pictured right), who own Cartridge World on Station Road, Portslade, were named Cartridge World New Franchisees of the Year at a glittering ceremony at Alton Towers.
They launched their franchise in early 2006, having previously operated franchised petrol filling stations. Following the success of their first year, Chris and Antony have seen their turnover double in the second year and have plans to grow the business further.
Chris said: “We were helped by other Cartridge World franchisees who have given us guidance since the beginning. Behind the success is our commitment to offer really good local service. Customers can save money by refilling their cartridges, and they know if there’s a problem they have a money-back guarantee. For local businesses, where possible we’re giving a same day delivery and helping them with any printer-related queries or problems.
“Customers are increasingly aware of the environmental benefits of re-using cartridges and not sending them to landfill. For us, running Cartridge World is refreshing – we now recycle everything we can!”
Antony added: “It is great to be recognised for our achievements, the award is a real boost. We are planning to extend Cartridge World’s premises and employ another member of staff as we continue to grow the business.
“We have quickly established a loyal customer base and we’d like to take this chance to thank them for their support and the part they have played in us winning this award.”
Cartridge World is the market leading retailer of refilled and remanufactured printer cartridges. Using specifically formulated inks or toner, the Cartridge World stores can refill almost any inkjet or laser toner cartridge. The end result is a high quality product offering the customer substantial savings on the cost of an original and an environmentally-friendly alternative to throwing the cartridge into landfill.
