Another good year for Right at Home UK

20 December 2018

It has been quite a year for Right at Home! As we look forward to 2019, here is a brief snippet of some of our incredible achievements we hope to build on next year.

The care industry is a rewarding industry to be a part of, and the Right at Home network is fast-becoming one of the most rewarding business opportunities you could hope to be involved with. Over the year, we have grown to 60 franchisees, with Prime Minister Teresa May opening Right at Home’s 50thoffice in her local constituency: RaH Reading, Wokingham and Twyford.

Whilst this has been an excellent year for the network as a whole, it has also been a successful year for many of our franchisees too, with two of our business owners winning national franchise awards, and several offices winning regional business awards.

In May, Julie Houston RaH North Cheshire was awarded the national EWIF New Woman Franchisee award, and RaH Guildford & Farnham won the Customer Focus Award, at the Surrey Hampshire Hampshire Biz Awards.

In June, RaH Loughton owner, Almas Adam, won the bfa Young Franchisee of the Year award. “We wanted to put Almas forward for this award to highlight how owning a Right at Home business it isn’t all about experience,” says Ken Deary, CEO of Right at Home UK. “Almas is a shining example of how being dynamic, driven, and committed to following the Right at Home model, leads to success.”

And in November, RaH South Cheshire won three awards in one weekend: The SCCCB Excellence in Customer Service and Start-Up Business of the Year awards, and North West Homecare Team of the Year at the regional British Care Awards.

It’s not just our business owners who are doing well, they have inspired excellence among their local office teams. “It’s been particularly rewarding to see some of our CareGivers achieving recognition for their willingness to go the extra mile,” says Group Operations Director, Lucy Campbell. “At our annual conference in September, we launched our Right at Home CareGiver of the Year Award. Our first winner, Yvonne Smith, herself 70 years old, reduced the room to tears with her amazing attitude towards helping others. The following month, 23-year-old Cardiff CareGiver, Ross Camacho, won the Gold Award for Exceptional Newcomer, at the Wales Care Awards.”

In September, Right at Home’s annual conference, addressed the challenge of building trust with the franchisor, through strong network relationships, and building trust with Clients, their families and the wider community. “As a franchise, we are consistently working together to achieve a very high standard across the UK,” says Lucy. “Over this year, our homecare review score increased to 9.8/10, and all our business owners have achieved a 100% record of ‘Good’ or ‘Outstanding’ CQC inspection results. This is down to the commitment and dedication we share as a network to the future of Right at Home.”

And the icing on top of a very successful year? For the 6thconsecutive year Right at Home received a five-star franchisee satisfaction rating, and were awarded Best Management franchise for the 3rdyear, thanks to the anonymous feedback from franchisees in the annual WorkBuzz survey! “When we began franchising,” Lucy continues, “we had a clear vision: To be recognised as the best business in homecare. We wanted to be rated the best provider of homecare services and among the best franchise systems. We began to achieve this in 2016 when we first won our Best Franchise Award, as well as becoming the UK’s most highly recommended national homecare provider, with a group review score of 9.5/10. We maintain this focus and have driven our standards even higher, three years on.”

As you reflect on what you hope to achieve in 2019, why not think about adding your skills and commitment to excellence in care to Right at Home, just like our two newest franchisees, Grantley Lynch and Tracey Shehan:

  • Grantley opened Right at Home Medway in July. With a passion for people and a desire to see them prosper, his main goal through his Right at Home business is create opportunities and career developments for people in his local area.
  • Tracey opened Right at Home Hemel Hempstead on 1stOctober. Already involved in the care industry, Tracey’s passion for quality care combined with the Right at Home ethos to providing the highest quality care, were a perfect fit.

“There really has never been a better time to be part of this network,” says Lucy. “We would love for you to see amazing results in your own life, in 2019, just as we know we will continue to see throughout the network.”
