Husse National Meeting | Success of Husse UK – Report

2014 is already proving to be a successful year for Husse UK.  We have more active franchisees than ever before, our product sales are increasing in franchise territories, and we’ve experienced growth in the online and business-to-business divisions. On March 24, 2014, we held our national meeting and the whole experience was positive for everyone involved in the Husse network.  Here is a summary of Husse UK’s success and what we discussed at our national meeting.

Husse Global Success

In terms of expansion, in 2013 alone, Husse expanded in Asia to serve Singapore, Taiwan, Japan, and Malaysia.  The company now plans to set up franchises in the United States and Canada. In 2013, Husse grew by 28% globally.  Overall, Husse has grown at a rate of 20% a year for the last six years on average, despite the recession. This showed our franchisees that investing in a company that has a proven track record is a more secure way to start your own business.

Husse – UK Success

Husse launched in the UK in October 2012 and has expanded rapidly since. Currently, we operate in over 15 counties. The biggest satisfaction comes from how well Husse products are doing since launching.  Sales of Husse products in our second year of operation have dramatically increased - wholesale to franchisees is up by 1000% and online sales are up by 500% - and we still have another 6 months to go before the end of our second year of operation! 


At Husse, animal welfare is our most important mission. Husse franchisees are trained to be pet nutritionists.  Education is an ongoing process, so at Husse we continue to educate our franchisees on a regular basis. The national meeting kicked off with an education program about pet nutrition, focusing on the sensitive digestive systems of dogs. In the UK recently there have been a lot of stories about gluten-free products, and we wanted to ensure Husse franchisees are fully equipped to educate pet owners on this important topic.

Product Range

Husse offers a full line of 350 products, all of which are made exclusively by us and are designed to offer a balanced diet for pets. Essential contents such as amino and fatty acids, vitamins, micro and macro elements, and nutraceutical components are added to Husse complete food for dogs and cats. Husse continues to develop new products based on customer demand and nutrition research. In 2014, Husse launched the Sensitive line of complete food for dogs, a line which currently contains seven products and will be expanding to ten in the near future. We also launched Husse Dog Sterilised complete food, as well as several healthy snacks, supplements, and accessories. Husse has introduced new products for our feline friends, too – our exclusive Lamm & Ris (lamb and rice) and Katt (Cat) Sterilised foods.  Our goal is to ensure pet leads a healthy and long life!

Business to Business

Having a wide range of specific products to fulfil the needs of breeders, kennels, catteries and charities is important to us and it makes us different from our competitors. Husse now has over ten professional line products to support our business-to-business (B2B) partners, which of course will only increase B2B revenue for our franchisees. Although our professional line is exclusively made for breeders, kennels, catteries and charities, we do not compromise on our principles in producing this line. Husse Pro range manufactured only from ingredients that are certified to be suitable for human consumption, the pro line is complete food, free from artificial additives and colouring, up to 85% digestible, and produced in EU-regulated factories.

Sharing Ideas

One of the benefits of investing in a franchise is that you have others to work with who are doing the same thing you are. However, there needs to also be a company culture where best practices are shared in the network. Our national meeting was evidence we have successfully created a culture of sharing ideas. All of our franchisees were very keen to talk about what has worked and not worked, which was well received by everyone. More importantly, the meeting allowed Husse franchisees to create better relationships which will promote more collaboration amongst franchisees.
