Caremark (Barnsley) teams up with Dementia Action Alliance

15 May 2014

This month sees dementia once again in focus with Caremark (Barnsley), as a member of local Dementia Action Alliance, supporting activities and events which will be held to mark Dementia Awareness week running from the 18th – 24 th May 2014.

The aim of the alliance is to create a truly dementia friendly community across the borough of Barnsley.  Through these activities it is hoped to educate and support local businesses and services to become ‘Dementia Aware’ and thus provide a dementia friendly environment and service in Barnsley for those living with the illness.

The Barnsley care provider has care workers who are specially trained to deliver a compassionate and professional service to their clients with the illness, a factor which is crucial when supporting people with dementia.

Caremark (Barnsley) provide bespoke care and support services to people of all ages, abilities and ethnicities who wish to continue living safely and independently at home but who may require some support to do so.  Increasing numbers of people are choosing to remain living at home, a preferable option to residential care, and this is often only made possible with the help of compassionate and professional care workers.

With Caremark (Barnsley)’s permanent allocation of care workers to clients, people are able to enjoy a better quality of life.  Support is given to aim for re-establishing former hobbies again as well as achieve personal goals and outcomes, which means people have more control over their life choices and ultimately achieve better levels of independence.
