UK’s No 1 homecare franchisor receives Queen’s Award for innovation

21 April 2016

The UK’s No 1 homecare franchisor Home Instead Senior Care received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in recognition of innovation – on Her Majesty’s 90th birthday today (21st April.)

The highest accolade for business success was granted to the UK’s number 1 private homecare company - in recognition of its bespoke relationship-led care model and the exemplary support given to franchisees throughout their business life cycle.

The prestigious business accolade pays tribute to the blueprint the franchise business has created for dignified, quality homecare delivered in visits that typically last a minimum of one hour, with clients and CAREGivers matched based on interests and hobbies. An approach royally recognised with the Queen’s Award for the way it is changing the face of ageing.

With a globally tried and tested franchise model responsible for the franchisor’s success in the UK, the business has grown to a £100 million annualised turnover.

The franchise was founded in the UK by Sam and Trevor Brocklebank and followed a frustrating search for decent care when Trevor’s grandfather Frank needed support.

Its approach has seen the network expand from the pilot office opened by co-founders Sam and Trevor in 2005 - to a robust network of 175 franchises throughout the whole of the UK.

Nationally, Home Instead provides five million hours of quality homecare a year to 8,000 elderly clients. The royally praised brand has 145 carefully mapped territories available as well as territory resale opportunities for prospective franchisees who feel an affinity with its ethos.

Trevor Brocklebank, Co-founder and Chief Executive, said: “The Queen’s Award for innovation is the pinnacle of business achievement in the UK. Receiving this prestigious accolade marks out our franchise opportunities as a best-in-class proposition, a way to run a successful business and make a difference to society at the same time, by improving and innovating elder care standards through our tried and tested franchise model.”

Home Instead Senior Care supports franchisees at every step of their business journey with training and on-going support covering Care and Quality Standards, business development, IT, legal and marketing and with peer collaboration encouraged and networking events held. An annual National Conference brings the entire franchise network together to share and showcase best practice and innovation.

The franchisor has a 40 strong team at its National Office, which gives a 4:1 ratio of sector leading experts to franchisees, one of the best ratios in the franchise industry. Home Instead has been recognised with numerous awards for the industry leading support, expert counsel and bespoke training programmes it provides for its franchisees.
