Premier Sport praised for school’s PE Gold Kite Mark

01 January 2015

Following Premier Sport’s action packed summer of sport at Sandringham Primary School in Newham, London, the children and teaching staff returned to the great news they’ve been awarded Sainsbury’s Gold Kite Mark for the standard of PE.

Premier Sport have been given special praise for their impact at the school where they currently deliver before school sports clubs and lunch time clubs every day of the week. The UK’s no.1 external provider of PE & sport are also providing weekend courses and a full holiday time sports programme too.

Heath Vennus, PE Coordinator commented: “Thanks again for running the school’s summer sport courses, the students really enjoyed it and I can already see the impact those extra training sessions have had on the children that attended.

Also, I have just been informed that our school has been awarded the Sainsbury's Gold Kite Mark for the standard of PE delivered at Sandringham. Significantly, it was the contribution made by Premier Sport that really pushed the percentage of children involved in extra-curricular clubs up to the level needed to be considered for the Gold status.

I look forward to working with you and your coaches throughout the 2014-15 school year where hopefully we can maintain the very high standards we expect from our children at Sandringham.”

Premier Sport’s local Physical Activity and Sports coordinator, Michael Johnson  commented:

“We have a fantastic relationship with Sandringham who are very receptive to any sporting innovation that we are able to provide. In addition to the Saturday football and holiday courses we currently provide lunchtime cover 5 days a week and this has helped to cement our relationship with the staff, pupils and parents at the school.

The Head Teacher Rob Cleary and PE coordinator Heath Vennus are continually trying to improve the sport provision at Sandringham and I am very pleased that my team have contributed to this award”.

Premier Sport’s delivery of sport and physical activity reached record levels in the 2013-14 school year, with a total of 7.4 million visits for an hour of activity – that means even more young people than ever before are experiencing PE, extracurricular sport and physical activity through our innovative Inspire Programme
