15 January 2014

UK dog owners donated over £850 to the charity Hounds for Heroes as a result of the fundraising efforts of dog boarding company Wagging Tails.

Throughout 2013 Wagging Tails ran a number of fundraising initiatives aimed at raising both awareness and funds for the charity. Mascot "Bernie" (pictured) attended a number of county shows and ran both the 2013 Bath and Reading Half Marathons and the company also encouraged owners to make donations to the charity when booking their dog's holidays.

Hounds for Heroes goal is to provide specially trained assistance dogs to injured and disabled men and women of both the UK armed forces and civilian emergency services leading to an enhanced quality of life for their clients.

Commenting on Wagging Tails efforts Hounds for Heroes posted the following on their Twitter feed,
