Autosmart franchisees have enjoyed a strong performance in the year to July, with the company, which manufactures and supplies premium vehicle cleaning products, reporting that average turnover per franchisee closed the year with an average growth of 9%. In addition, the top quarter grew at over 20% and there was a 30% increase in the number of franchisees reaching ‘Gold’ coverage.
Gold coverage is attained when Autosmart’s franchisees have achieved more than the top sales expectation per head of population in their franchise territory. Autosmart have awarded 8 franchisees with Gold coverage status, rewarding the hard work of franchisees to optimise their market share.
In fact, the network saw such success in the last 12 months that the franchisor created a brand new elite Platinum level for two franchisees that Autosmart felt should be specially recognised; Frank Sutherland from Aberdeen and Steven Pollard from Northern Ireland both achieved Platinum status in recognition of them breaking all previous sales records for their areas.
Commenting on the franchisees’ strong performance, managing director Sophie Atkinson said: “I am really pleased for our network, and the Gold club in particular. What I have noticed is that the top performers all share certain characteristics; they set their business a clear plan for the year ahead, they break the sales part of the plan down into daily goals, they measure how they do against these goals every day.
“They also all have a strong sense of the role they play in helping their customers through service, product advice and saving them money on their vehicle cleaning bills.”
The network’s success follows a great 2012 for Autosmart, which saw them win the Gold Award themselves at the bfa HSBC Franchisor of the Year Awards 2012, before Edinburgh franchisee Keith Ellwood took home the Franchisee of the Year 2012 prize a few months later in a rare double win.
