The Travel Franchise, the franchise recruitment arm of the award-winning travel agency, Not Just Travel, is continuing to see rapid growth and expansion, with almost double the number of franchisees signed up in the first half of 2018 versus the same period last year.

Over the last three months alone, The Travel Franchise has welcomed over 60 new franchisees, putting it well on course to meet its target of 1,000 franchisees by 2020. 

Paul Harrison, Co-founder of The Travel Franchise, said: “We are very excited by our recent and rapid growth. We’re seeing a record number of people wanting to become entrepreneurs and be their own boss. Earlier this month, we held our first Discovery Day in Scotland, as we look to expand our franchise network even further. We welcomed lots of prospective franchisees who got to meet some of existing Travel Consultants from the North and find out what makes The Travel Franchise so successful.

“Franchising is certainly a growing sector – The Travel Franchise is perfectly placed to offer those interested in franchising the opportunity to create their own destiny. We have ambitious plans to grow our franchise network to 1,000 franchisees by 2020, providing opportunities for many more entrepreneurial individuals who are keen to start their own travel consultancy businesses and join one of the UK’s fastest growing travel companies.”

Founded by entrepreneurial duo, Steve Witt and Paul Harrison, The Travel Franchise now has more than 600 franchisees, each with their own home-based travel consultancy. With over 17 years’ experience in the travel industry, The Travel Franchise is a proven franchise model, with low-cost start up fees. Franchisees can enjoy all the benefits of working from home, along with the opportunity for global travel.   

Steve Witt, Co-founder of The Travel Franchise, commented: “It’s not just The Travel Franchise which has experienced great success recently – our franchisees have also been hard at work, bringing in a record number of bookings this summer. During big sporting events, most other travel companies report a drop in sales. Despite the World Cup and Wimbledon, our Travel Consultants have bucked this trend and saw a big increase. In fact, during the World Cup we saw our busiest day since January!”

To support the company’s rapid growth, The Travel Franchise has also expanded its head office team by 20% in recent months, which is continuing to increase as it ensures it is equipped to support its ever-growing franchise network. In addition to the company’s speedy expansion, The Travel Franchise has taken on additional space at its headquarters at the Basepoint Business Centre, near Bournemouth Airport, to accommodate its growing team and training sessions, where new franchisees learn the essentials of running a travel business.

Paul added: “We have seen a very strong start to 2018 and are well-placed to meet our growth targets for 2020, hence the need to boost our head office team. We have also taken on additional space at Basepoint, which has been our headquarters since 2011 to accommodate our burgeoning business. 

“We are extremely optimistic for the future. The travel industry is an exciting, fast-paced sector and we expect our growth to continue apace.”  

Steve concluded: “Paul and I, along with our exceptional team here at head office, provide ongoing training and support to all our franchisees to ensure they get the most from their businesses. We have amassed a wealth of business, sales and travel experience and are passionate about sharing our learnings with our franchisees. Many of our franchisees do not have previous experience of the travel industry, but all possess a passion for travel.

“We’ve had an amazing start to the year but we’re not resting on our laurels. We want to offer even more people the opportunity to join our successful travel business and we’re looking to recruit 400 new franchisees over the next two years.”
