Caremark (Cheshire North East) makes the Social Care Commitment

19 March 2014

Home care provider Caremark (Cheshire NE) demonstrated their commitment to continually upholding the quality of care and support they deliver to clients by being part of the Social Care Commitment initiative.

What is the Social Care Commitment?

The Social Care Commitment is a voluntary agreement between all parts of the adult social care sector in England, which covers workforce quality.  It provides clarity to employers and employees about what is expected of them and both must make this commitment.

The employer commitment is a promise to:

  • Recruit staff who care
  • Provide thorough induction training
  • Help staff develop their skills
  • Make sure staff understand safety and quality standards
  • Take responsibility for how staff work
  • Supervise staff properly
  • Support staff to put their commitment into practice everyday

The employee commitment is a promise to:

  • Work responsibly
  • Uphold dignity
  • Work co-operatively
  • Communicate effectively
  • Protect privacy
  • Continue to learn
  • Treat people fairly

Caremark (Cheshire North East) are dedicated to providing the highest standards of care and support and hence this commitment adds strength to the Quality Assurance procedures they already implement.  Their services provide care and support to people of all ages, abilities and ethnicities who wish to remain living safely and independently at home but who may require some support to do so.  The types of support offered range from daily, time specific visits to the more complex needs of 24 hour live-in care.
