Question ONE - "What does Management Construction do" 

We practised in the following essential disciplines, without which no project, large or small, would have been possible.

  • Secretarial

Clients and  other stake holders relied on the fact that we were well practised in the above disciplines and able to advise and keep them up to date on programming and costs during the process of delivering complicated projects in accordance with specifications and fit for clients' purpose. All our project , large and small, we managed from start on site to final certification of completion, final certification of and settlement, by the clients, of all trade contract accounts. Finally, provide close out documentation;  essential for the client's future referrence.

Question TWO - What were we doing latterly

Management Construction (North East) Ltd consultancy was (2010 -2012) working towards  our retirement and removal From North Yorkshire down to our new retirement abode in Worcestershire.

During the final two years we received instructions from “North Yorkshire Timber” A major client for whom we had delivered the new head office and Depot – Northallerton branch North Yorkshire - following destruction by fire,of their old depot; as before described.

Designed and upgraded one of their existing depots to provide improved storage externally and security for houses on the boundary - involving construction of a large retaining wall to prevent the houses cracking up or sliding into depot yard.

Converted an existing building – recently acquired by them in County Durham – To provide a new depot with timber storage, offices and shop.

Provided estimate of cost for converting a building to new depot in York which would have been ours to deliver if not retiring, moving to Worcestershire.

Prior to retiring and leaving our office in town, the owner – landlord – commissioned us to convert the building into two storey living accommodation. Our land lord and wife took a two month leave to visit their property in France which was under improvement. On their return home we had the office converted and ready for a new tenant; They were pleasantly surprised at the no nonsense, speedy way we delivered first class accommodation on time and within their budget; that's what “Management construction” does and why clients returned  and past the message on.

A client, for whom we had built an extension to his house, commissioned us to transform – for their two grown up sons – an old two storey barn and garage in their garden. We made good - structurally – the old building and converted it into ideal, self contained, living accommodation on both floors. 

Coming up to retirement our past clients were keen for these relatively small projects to be delivered by our system before we disapeared to Worcestershire. 

Finally

Arriving in the West Midlands to an interesting little project.  On our new site; with open views across farmland to the hills.  We designed, obtained planning approval, rounded up local trade contractors and delivered our own two storey retirement abode. Spring (2013) we moved in, knocked our garden into shape and still enjoying the view.
