Franchise Spotlight: Property

Real estate, home building and property investment franchises promise robust, growing demand.

Property will always be in high and, for the foreseeable future, growing demand given Australia’s growing population of both people and businesses.

Fueled by the government’s HomeBuilder grant program, the country’s construction industry was set to expand at a record pace in 2021, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Franchise industry trends

Property franchises can specialize in construction, real estate and lettings, or property investment.

Buying one gives you access to training, support and technologies in areas such as marketing, lead generation and managing customer relationships.

Australia is home to several house building franchises that typically sell territories only to licensed builders.

This includes Harrington Homes, which touts immense buying power, 50 unique home designs and pre-priced plans to simplify the customer experience among the franchisee benefits.

Another, Stroud Homes, says it offers “big builder prices with small builder service” levels, while Green Homes says it builds properties using sustainable materials and building practices.

IWG , meanwhile, is the global leader in providing flexible workspace, with more than 3,400 locations across 120 countries and an 8,000-strong global salesforce.

Numerous real estate franchises have capitalised on an annual, pre-pandemic industry growth rate of 2.6%, as reported in analysis by market research firm IBISWorld.

To name just two, Raine & Horne equips franchisees with a social and search marketing AI tool and a CRM integrated with real estate data source RP Data, while Century 21 is one of the world’s largest real estate networks, with 8,000 offices spanning 81 countries.

SVN specializes in commercial real estate, which involves more family-friendly business hours and potentially higher earnings and levels of repeat business than residential-focused rivals can offer.

Property Mavens , meanwhile, advises homebuyers and investors on choosing properties, and helps clients renovate and maximize rental income from their property portfolio. Franchisees keep 84% of their profits and choose whether to work from home or an office.
