Mike on his life before Really Awesome Coffee...

"Before I bought the franchise, I was in the armed forces. I was in the army for 14 years, but I was a chef in the armed forces, so going from a catering backround to this - it's still hospitality.

"There are a lot of similarities to what I used to do, but then there are a lot of different challenges, which I'm actually finding quite exciting at the moment, but it's still early days."

On the biggest change to his life...

"In the army I was in Germany for a number of years, then I was in Scotland, and in England as well. I've been to quite a few places in the world, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Cyprus, Serria Leone and Canada to name but a few.

"So I was away quite a lot, so this is a big change for me, to be in one place for longer than two or three years, because it's not happened since I was 16!"
